This presentation examines the concept and applications of abrupt magnetic flux density changes in electromagnetic energy harvesters (EMEHs). It begins by introducing the research initiative, followed by a detailed exploration of design principles to optimize performance. Key findings include an optimal β value of 3 for peak efficiency, ideal structural parameters such as a wire diameter of 0.12 mm and coil thickness of 4.7 mm, and the superior output of alternating magnet arrangements, with one configuration generating 358.6 mW of power. The research further demonstrates significant practical outcomes. Configurations include a hybrid piezoelectric-electromagnetic system achieving 2.1 W of instantaneous power, capable of charging a 3.7V battery in 20 minutes; a circular flux design with an average output of 0.51 W; and a low-frequency harvester that operates below 1 Hz, producing 144 mW. These results underscore the effectiveness of abrupt magnetic flux changes in enhancing energy harvesting efficiency, paving the way for advanced self-powered devices and sustainable energy solutions.
